Mountainview is strategically located in the transportation hub of the Mid-Hudson Valley; providing easy access to New York City, Westchester, New Jersey, Connecticut, Albany, and beyond. Road routes include Interstate 84, Interstate 684, Interstate 87 (New York State Thruway), and the soon to be completed Interstate 86 (The Quickway). In addition close access of Route 52, Route 9, Route 9D, Route 9W, and Route 300 provides endless access to all of the major retailers. With the Galleria:Poughkeepsie and Newburgh Mall as well as the South Hills Mall (Under Renovation) and planned Marketplace Mall, you are sure to find what you need. The area also features the MTA Metro-North Railway providing direct service to Westchester and New York City, you can be in Downtown Manhattan in just over an hour. Nationwide commuter airline service is also just minutes away in Stewart International Airport, featuring many national airlines.

Suburban Views and Feel with Urban Conveniences

Being just over a hour north of New York City, the area is rich in amenities. Not only does the direct metropolitan area feature these amenities, with near-by malls, urban centers, and places of interest; you get the suburban views and feel with all the amenities of an urban center. Just minutes away is the Cities of Beacon and Newburgh which feature vibrant Main Street Business Districts and active waterfronts on the beautiful Hudson River. The region's capital city, Poughkeepsie, is just 20 minutes away and features an even larger business district and numerous malls. With points of interest such as FDR's home, Samuel Moorse's home, the Vanderbilt Mansion, George Washington's Headquarters, Dutchess Stadium (Tampa Bay Devil Ray's Minor League Baseball Team, the Hudson Valley Renegades), and West Point; there is plenty of day trips to keep you busy.

Outdoor Recreation

The Hudson River, Hudson Highland Mountain Range (Mountain featured on the state seal), Mohawk Mountain, and the Catskills. All of these outdoor landmarks feature hiking, skiing, and other outdoor activities throughout the year. In addition the area also features many parks with similar activities such as Fahnestock, Minnewaska, Storm King, and Bear Mountain. The best known aspect of the region has always been its outdoor beauty and activities, so whether you enjoy boating in the Hudson or hiking the Mohawk there is plenty to keep you busy.
